Transhumance Walk

Intersection Schapenbaan/Beeldekensstraat Ternat

Together with Breicabine, PeriFeria will set in motion a knitting cavalcade this year. A nomadic assembly of sheep, wool and knitting enthusiasts traces ‘de Schapenweg’, a historic transhumance that ran through the western edge of Brussels.

On Wednesday 27 September the knitting cavalcade will complete the final stage of the trail along ‘de Schapenweg’. Under the street sign of the Schapenweg in Dilbeek sheep and humans alike will gather around. A shepherd will lead the whole flock in a micro-transhumance. The knitting cavalcade will be accompanied by the bleating of sheep, a soft resistance to rushing and hasting.

After the bumpy walk you can enjoy a well-deserved knitting aperitif at CC Westrand.
